Pakati Primary Prefection!

This week has seen Pakati Primary school get together with other nearby schools for a joint event. They had an induction for the new prefects at the various schools for this academic year of 2026.

Below are the Heads of the schools who arranged the event, from left to right Mr Matonsi of St. Paul’s Musami, Mrs Kadzimu of Gezi, Mr Mahachi of Pakati, Mr Madzikwa of Chemhondoro and Mrs Danger of Mhembere

From Mr Mahachi: “Mr Chakanyuka and Mrs Sada are our teachers responsible for the prefects, and you will see them in the pictures below with the prefects from Pakati school

We chose our prefects at the end of the school year so that we give parents ample time to buy the prefects uniform. We chose 16 boys and 16 girls from those who would be in grade 3 up to 7 of the next year.

At the beginning of the year we induct them, sometimes at the school or at cluster level. However this year we took the zonal level. Cluster level involves Secondary schools as well, but zones are Primary schools only

We arranged this year that we induct them at the Shvanhowe Resort, which was officially opened on the 31st of January, which was offering a promotion for these services.

The Resort is close to Chemhondoro Primary school, so it was chosen as the venue by the various Heads of the schools. As it was new, they were offering a good price of $4.50 per attendee.

Pakati Primary prefects at the induction event

It was not all formal, as Primary students need to let off steam from time to time…

Students enjoying themselves at the resort

There is also power in numbers, with 372 prefects attending, instead of each school having to arrange an inductionon its own.”

Many thanks to Mr Mahachi for providing the images & information about the event👏

With many more stories from both Pakati schools to come showing how life goes on there, particularly for the students who benefit immensely from YOUR generosity!
