PC’s to Pakati💻!

PLEASE HELP US to get our goods to the schools!

Welcome to our great fundraising initiative for 2021…a challenge like no other! ANYONE can get involved!

We will have more IT equipment and most likely other useful items for the schools, already some of which are being prepared for us. We will collect them when Covid restrictions will allow, hopefully sometime around Easter or soon after. More details are still to come in future blog posts, so keep an eye out for them!

Here is how it will work:

Total distance from Bradford to Pakati as the crow flies is approximately 5340 miles. So, we need to raise an average of £30 per day for 178 days.

Officially, it will begin on Saturday 16th January, once more to coincide with the anniversary of the first day I set foot in a classroom at Pakati in 1989. It will run until 13th June, whatever total we reach. Our merchandise sales will continue afterwards.

How in Earth can we do that I hear you ask? Well, here is how: Anyone who is willing, can pick any day, or days, to walk (or under your own steam) as many or as few miles as they wish, and either just donate or get sponsored- at least £1 for each mile they walk, then send your donation direct to the accounts set up for Friends of Pakati (see below on how to donate).

On 16th January, I will do my first walk & donate some of my own money to start the ball rolling. If anyone else wants to do the same, go ahead! Just walk, run, cycle, wheelchair at least a mile under your own power – tell us who you are, when & where you did it, then how much you donated!! The Author will see how well we have done by 13th July 2021, and use the funds raised to get PC s to PAKATI. Please repeat as often as you wish….😁

Contact us if you would prefer a different method.

Every £1 raised moves the goods closer to the schools . You can check how far we have moved the goods with our regular updates!

Any funds raised by any other means – such as our Merchandise https://friendsofpakati.com/2021/01/09/friends-of-pakati-merchandise-for-sale/ – will go towards our total.
