Well the author has made it to the end of week 6 if his weight loss challenge. More good news! Another 1lb/0.5kg off…brings me down to 16st 9lbs, exactly 1 stone less than at the start. The idea is for people to promise/pay donations to http://gofundme.com/friends-of-pakati

Trachoma prevention

Hello Everyone, Please note and share:

MOHCC MUREWA DISTRICT will be conducting MASS DRUG ADMINISTRATION FOR TRACHOMA

Trachoma is a disease that causes Blindness.


Dates – From 24-29 February 2020


Venues – Schools, Clinics, Hospitals and Outreach Points


Target Group – All ages (Everyone)


Key message – The medicines that will be given helps to prevent blindness in future. The target group is ‘Everyone in the District’.

Still to come this week…

Two big stories this week are still being prepared…..

Firstly, Pakati Secondary school students success at athletics – details of the District competitions held recently at Murewa High School. Those successful athletes will compete next at Provincial level, to be held soon at Peterhouse College near Marondera.

Secondly, the Secondary school AGM was held recently, and discussed a number of issues including ongoing and planned developments (many of which are of interest to friendsofpakati), also choosing new School Development Committee (SDC) members.

My name is Chris Walker, and between January 1989 and September 1991 I worked, through VSO (Voluntary Service Overseas), at Pakati Secondary School in Murehwa South district in Zimbabwe. I was a Maths teacher for 2 years, the Acting Head for the last 8 months there.
